Statement

metronovon is a Japanese sci-fi media artist and worldbuilder based in Bangkok, building Silent Futures — a world of quiet, human-centered futures.

Rather than imagining technology itself, his work observes what humanity quietly carries through technological change. He is drawn not to the spectacle of what is new, but to what refuses to disappear: memory, ritual, care, and the small disorder of a life being lived. To him, these are not remnants of the past but the truest materials of the future.

Working across moving image, still image, and immersive installation, he builds worlds on a cosmic scale, then fills them with intimate human traces — so that vastness and closeness are felt in the same breath. Silence is central to his language. In the space left empty, the viewer is invited to feel their own presence within a larger horizon.

He believes an artist's task is not to predict the future, but to widen how we are able to imagine it. His practice explores how humanity imagines the future by listening carefully to the cultures that continue to shape the present.

The vision of metronovon is to share better images of the future with as many people as possible, subtly reshaping the very outline of what is to come.
